Community

Our culture has placed church on Sundays, we are a Sunday church nation.
We wonder why we can't build community in our churches sometimes, because we often don't see each other but once a week.
Community by definition is this: a group of people living together in once place, practicing common ownership.
While it has various meanings, this one stands out the most to me. Practicing ownership. A very interesting concept when it comes to our faith. Since it's not our "mamas faith" any more, and it's our faith, it means more, we own it more, we are more committed. We are constantly wanting to be with others of like mind, to grow with them, sharpen them and be challenged by them. This is community. Koinonia---true fellowship.
To be a true Community, we must remember what Jesus says, "to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves."
Not easy, but well worth it.
