There is a lot a youth group can and should do outside of their normal service times.  These include fun, outreach based games and activities, and things that help to train your students in the ways they should live.  Both types of activities are important for a healthy youth group and both will create some life long memories. 

Serving at Homeless Shelters

When I think back to my youth group days one of the first images that comes to mind is serving in a homeless shelter with my youth group.  We would load up a bus with kids and go serve however we could.  Sometimes we helped fold envelopes for the staff at the shelter, sometimes we cleaned up after a meal.  Whatever we did, we went there with the purpose of setting ourselves aside and putting other people first.  That was a powerful experience and it was memorable.  It was putting our faith in action and not just talking about it.
