Starting a small group or Bible study is a great way to grow in many ways. It's a great way to grow a church, it's a great way to grow in relationships with others, and it's a great way to grow in your relationship with God. Small groups can form solid bonds and open up great discussion and make you think about things in new ways.
Starting a small group is not always easy, but we will try to give you some ideas to make the process easier and more successful.
- Pray about your small group: Pray about the topic, who will come, and every other detail of the small group. We should never forget to bring everything before God first.
- Decide on a format or topic: We provide some ideas for types of small groups, take one of those or come up with your own, just make sure it is something you can get excited about. Going to your small group should be one of the highlights of your week.
- Recruit members: Once you have what your small group will be covering either go to friends or family members with the idea or announce it at church. Find other people who want to join, find a time that works for most people, and get started.
- First meeting: We recommend the first meeting of the small group be a casual get to know you type meeting where people can just meet each other and start getting to know each other.
- Continue on your way, remembering the importance of building relationships within the group and serving each other.
